Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
On page 39. Listed under bbb.jpg and the same pic is posted on page 171 under Portrait5.jpg.
The pic is that of Oberstleutnant Henning Schönfeld.
There are some more I can identify and will do so as I run across them.
Take care, and thanks.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Kameraden,
On Page 195, you posted a photo of two SS officers walking side by side, and on 22 Jul 2008, according to the date, and it was taken from a newsreel.
The officer on the right about whom you were inquiring is a pic of Joachim Peiper and, unfortunately, not that of Max Wünsche, as was suggested.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hello Terry
I don't think the two on page 213 are Reinhard Hardegen. See attached.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Thanks Terry, done all, except (so far)
Reinhard Hardegen ; I agree to John
Heinz-Jürgen Issbrücker : just the simple way : is this id 100% ?
what's irritating me is the text on the reverse : "Eine kleine Erinnerung / an meinen / lieben Bräutigam / deine Helga // gefallen am 2. Aug 1943 " - KIA Aug 2nd 43
Issbrücker died 1983 ; the other text on the reverse has the home for "Helga" Speth -> Leer/Ostfriesland ; Issbrücker came from (near) Suhl / Thüringen.
regards, Bernd

Hello, Bernd and John,
I will double check on those in question, but I will verify and get back to you. If I have made an error, I will correct it.
Take care, and will get back with you both.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
You ask for the id of the officer shown with General Speidel on page 66. That is Josef "Sepp" Grassmann.
Hope this helps.
Take care and I will be in touch about the other two in question. I agree. They are not the officers I had so indicated.

Hello, Bernd,
I will confirm that the officer inspecting members of the Fallschirmtruppen is indeed Generaloberst Kurt Student. He is listed on Page 71 as Fj.photo. 128jpg.
Hope this helps.
