I also believe it to be Loewe based on many other photos of the man.

I think that RKT 4 posted by Freiherr on 23 August 2003 is Ulrich von Canstein.

On the subject of Löwe/Laukat, here is a Kai Winkler picture of Laukat for comparison.

Thanks John ! I find it very hard to differentiate from the facial features. They really look similar. But here are many very good in that and perhaps another comment comes in on this aspect. At the end of the day my vote is 100% nevertheless. :) And, Someone from Kharkov, I buy your 101% of course.
I found another argument for Löwe. The Bundesarchiv caption says summer 1941 - Laukat received the KC in Oct 41 (though the BA captions are to handle with care).
As this is the almost unanimous id right now I have taken the best quality pics (p 228) on the index and captioned all others (pp. 45, 47, 220) with Löwe. Laukat taken on the index, too.

John, let me say hm.., please.
This is another one from the reserve issues. Other colleagues said von Canstein, too. Freiherr says definitely No. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 42#p400642
He was captured by British troops in Bremerhaven - if this is the story of the pic, there is a mismatch concerning von Canstein. If I'm correct his last postion was Kdr. Reiter-Regiment 41. The cavalry surrendered to the British (!) in Austria.

A few times I asked myself who could be an officer with Stug wrapper in Bremerhaven. No clue.
The id itself looks ok to me. :?

Page 92,

RKT28.jpg Not Rudolf Schniewindt, he was never RKT holder. It's General der Artillerie Johann Sinnhuber.

Best Wishes :)

Bernd,

I am very sorry, but I think that I forget the pages for the new IDs. I will try to find them. By the way, a new man...

Kind regards,

Gregg.

Here are two un-named RKTs from the Bundesarchiv images. Does anyone recognise them?
Thanks

Hello Berndt

Thanks for the comment about Canstein. The only other image I have of the man is the enclosed drawing (source: Lexikon der Wehrmacht). I think there is a strong resemblance.

Johann Sinnhuber done, thanks Ruslan ! Now the entire nafa. series on pages 92-100 has an id. If anything is still wrong there - corrected id in the meantime possibly - one of the generals crew might give a call, please.
