Done all re: older pages ids. Thanks, dear colleagues, you even find and work on some series and pics still not mentioned and kept for a 3rd round review (this monster thread obviously requires) ! Fantastic.

I will add a complete list for the page 3 series soon ; page 4, the Offz. requested - Benzin is an id I tend to subsribe.

Until we have a "definite", the confirmations list now has : p4 - Benzin / p139 - Radwan / p140 - Tanzer / p233 - Bornhof.

For sure Hans Sachs, "GD", is on the left here (per chris44, autograph), and there's merely remaining a doubt the one to the right is Hans Maaz :
Hans Sachs (l) and Heinz Maaz (r) , first request on page 56
same Bundesarchiv pic on page 226 (same quality) ; no id there as well.
Confirmation of Maaz or still serious doubts ?

Re: confirmation ? - not Mikosch ; Dr. Günther Kratsch, Kdr. I./AR 65, France ?
Id'ed by John ; confirmed now by chris44

Another note I had for this : Hans von Poncet ?
If there is no objection, Kratsch will go index.

Hello, Bernd,

Hmm, RK holder on page 139 it's very hard nut! I think it's not Oscar Radwan! His ears, nose, chin and facial features don't match. I have another version, it's maybe Fritz Iwand.

I read this caption "Oberstlt.Iwand"

And two photos for comparsion:

Best wishes :)

At first glance I would say the spelling is indeed "Iwand". If I'm correct he was Btls.Kdr. I./Schtz.Rgt. 10 / (9. Pz.Div.) 1938-40. The connection with this Ogefr. would make it 100% but if we have a chance on that ?

Still a bit cautious
Bernd

Hello, Bernd,

I wanted to point out that on Page 23 there is a color depiction of a Luftwaffe officer listed as luft.colour.jpg. That is Carl-August Schumacher, already identified elsewhere.

Also, on Page 169, listed as unknown 3.jpg, is a photo of Albert Spieth. I do not know if this picture was id'd here, but it was elsewhere. Anyway, I can find no id for this pic at this particular location.

Concerning the discussion on Page 268 regarding the autograph of "Iwand" or "Krauß", as I had thought it was at first, I can find no listing for an Army officer whose background would fit the photograph. After due consideration, I would also have to agree with Ruslan M that it is Fritz Iwand. It is certainly not a photo of Radwan.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Terry

graveland asked: Who is the Eichenlaubträger?

Must be Oberstleutnant ALFONS KÖNIG, Commander of the Grenadier-Regiment 199 "List".
Note his cuff title "Infanterie-Regiment List".
