here is a pic while in Bundeswehr service (Oberst) http://bw-bad-mergentheim.dlrg.de/grupp ... ruppe.html - a good view on the characteristic chin
attached is an autograph ; source : http://www.epier.com/biddingform.asp?1866716
after all, a good hit and final clarifying, George !
It's him on basis of the material available now IMO. For sure there are more autographs out there (I can't get hand on one this minute).

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hi all,
the Courland Pz RK = Jürgen Gauß makes sense, as it obviously was an "Kampfgruppe" that was surrendered there, so you have an Grenadier in the Panzer turret !
Still open for discussion are the 4.. turret numbers, maybe the II./PR 29 was inofficially renamed I./PR 29 because the I. Abteilung obviously was not about to return to the Division !?
The same thing happened with III./Pz.Rgt. 36, in September 1944 the Abteilung was named II. Abteilung...

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
The index is updated - all up to page 284 , all double pics, etc.
Not identified , last 10 pages
page 276 : unk rkt Goebbels Lutze.jpg , BA pic Aug 42, unk rkt Goebbels~.jpg
page 278 : FJ Ritterkreuzträger (again?) , 0163 EBA.jpg . KM 4 RKT
page 279 : Image9.jpg
page 281 : 0055A.jpg
page 283 : kmifficer.jpg
page 284 : RK Verleihung Mai 1945.jpg
On the confirmations list :
Bruno Kohnz, EL
attached is a clear portrait (autograph from a personal collection)
I take it there was and is no objection to this group pic (bit more detailed caption added by me) :
Four RKT of II./KG 30 (KCs for Norway [attack on England] and France), left to right : Werner Baumbach, Lt. Flugzeugführer i.d. 5./KG 30 - Claus Hinkelbein, Hptm. Kdr. II./KG 30 - Franz Wieting, Olt. Staffelkapitän 6./KG 30 - Willi Schultz, Fw. Flugzeugführer i.d. 6./KG 30
Added to the index :
Hans Wolff, Aufkl.Stff 1.(F)/124
that is, this one can be crossed out, as it is definitely not him :
Kurt Tanzer (confirmations list, old)
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Ruslan,
in fact, it is Stüdemann !
page 106 (better pic) : Gerhard Stüdemann
(page 42 captioned, too)
See autograph attached for comparisn and completion. [source: from a personal collection]
As it was said to be Zöllner (and is on the index as one of the various Zöllner pics) - the man to the right is Zöllner in fact (or wrong, too) ?
