On this occasion, Yes, identified Hans Siegler Identical photo also on page 145.

This one was also identified as Hans Siegler - Hans Siegler . Another request by you Krollspell. This has to be a wrong id. Siegler's last rank was Oberjäger = Uffz., the pic shows a Feldwebel. And it doesn't look like the same person.
1) Correct ?
2) Who is this ?

Hello Bernd!

The pic that Semenov posted is definitely Hans Siegler according to two other sources... The same photograph is also in Breyette & Bender's "Tank Killers - History of the Tank Destruction Badge" (2000) and identified as Hans Siegler of the JägRgt 49. And then on www.das-ritterkreuz.de you have another angle of Hans Siegler where you can see that his EK-I is pinned in the same unusually high position on his chest.

I still haven't got any clue of who the other RKT is, that I posted a question on before. The search continues... :?

Ah, found him!

In Breyette & Bender's (2000) book he (our RKT Feldwebel from page 144 wrongly identified as "Hans Siegler") is identified as Andreas Greiner of the JägRgt 75. It's the same photograph...

And here's another photograph of Greiner from http://www.das-ritterkreuz.de

G'day Krollspell.

Thanks for the pic of Walter Wriedt.

I'm a distant relative and have produced a website that has a distinct Gebirgsjaeger flavour !

Hello John!

It's a nice website of yours on the 3. Gebirgs-Division and Walter Wriedt. I also have relatives that served in the same division early in the war. If you need some pre-Anschluss photographs of the Austrian Alpenjäger predecessor regiments of this Division, see the followng link... (Unfortunately, the pics have been cropped on the rigth side).

Hello Krollspell,

thanks, all the revirement done, and the different pics of Siegler and Greiner added to the index, too. I should have refered to that also - Greiner is on page 231 again, id'ed by George (that raised the doubts back then). So, we had a decent double check and a full clarification. The third identical pic of Siegler (pp. 124, 145) the site before has been deleted.

Best regards
Bernd

The index is updated.

Not identified (last pages)
page 284 : RK Verleihung Mai 1945.jpg

page 285 : Mölders and a RKT

page 286 : 28jager.jpg , 2664904 321.jpg

Crossed out from the confirmations list (p. 140, not Tanzer) ; same pic id'ed
Hans Wolff, Aufkl.Stff 1.(F)/124

Here is my 2nd round review for the pages 134 - 150 .

Crossed out from the no id list :
Klaus Scholtz
Dönitz with U-Boot cdrs, Angers/France, summer 1943 : Rösing, x, Dönitz, Zapp (hidden), Scholtz, Schulz, Winter, Lehmann-Willenbrock and Kuhnke
and U1.jpg , page 134 (all added to the index)

Page 150 contains the same fake like post war imposter, hence all the awards etc. His real name is Rudi Wolfmüller

On page 139 appears the same KG 53 group pic like on page 105. This Biblio one was handled and captioned preliminary. Here is again this entire story - added to the group pic section - , looks voluminous, but it isn't.

Lw ceremony, KG 53 "Legion Condor": Karl Christmann - Heinz Gutmann - Heinz Zöllner - Ernst-Ascan Gobert - Johann Dreher - Karl Rauer

= the same pic, page 105 (Biblio) / confirmations list : KG 53 group pic

The id of the ceremony pic was more "is" than speculation and should be ok. Eventually there is the question only if it is Zöllner - Dreher or vice versa.

This one we had also can be used for cross-check :
II. Gruppe / KG 53 "Legion Condor" : Gruppen-Kdr Herbert Wittmann with his Staffelkapitäne, resp. Staffelführer. (4./5./6. Staffel) : Dietrich Kornblum, Staffelfhr. 4./KG 53 , RK: 09.06.1944 - Heinz Zöllner, Staffelkptn. 6./KG 53 , RK: 05.04.1944 - Herbert Wittmann, Kdr. II./KG 53 - Johann Dreher, appointed Staffelführer 5./KG 53 in june 44 ? , RK: 05.04.1944 as Flugzeugfhr. i. d. 5./KG 53

and probably these can be solved easily ?
Stamer_Heinz_SBV.jpg - is it Kurt Loewer ?

Best regards
