Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Terry, done ; von Saucken on the index, too, as he is one of the diamonds holders with the lowest number of photos available.
Re : page 74 : who is this? by Balsi
because it is a double, this wasn't listed - on page 79 it appears again, with a close-up of the text :
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 21#p735421
To me, possible reads are : "Otto Kav ??" , or most likely "Ottokar .. ??"
It is not GenO Otto Deßloch (or Dessloch).
So, besides this is not a RKT, we are looking for an actor with such a christian name (?) ; could be a german movie in the 1950s, my guess. In principal this isn't a "fake" if it's a film card..nevertheless I will shift this to the "fake" section - with "?" note - if there is no objection.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
page 154 : Capturar_84.jpg - Josef Rettemeier ?
Already id'ed by John. Not Weidenbrück. I would confirm this. It matches 100% with the photos of him, when not laughing (best known shot maybe). Anyone says No and why ?
page 191 : 2921038.jpg - Martin Möbus? , 2802263.jpg
This was identified as well in the past. For sure Lt. Martin Möbus.
And, this is a fascinating photo the more I look at it. Doesn't it show the Thomsen and the Möbus brothers ? They really look like brothers.
Rolf Thomsen, KC - and ...??
Martin Möbus, KC - and ...??
I couldn't confirm this yet. It it correct they both had brothers in service with the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine respectively ?

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
The index is updated. All done according to your latest ids and comments, thanks Alif, Terry, Chris and Ruslan !
Quite a lot of entries on the no id list crossed out. Georg "Geo" Müller was requested three times (pp. 229, 247, 276) with the Goebbels/Sewastopol/BA pic.
The page 129 series is reduced to one question - Teil 3, top.
Ruslan,
Sorge, Sigel, and Heller done. Sorge 100%, Sigel also 100% IMO - we have Hanns Heise pics for comparisn, no match, and the long small awards clasp of Sigel is specific, too, don't think that Heise ever showed this "long version".
I have another Heller pic in my database and the match is 95% from my point of view.
Not identified (last round)
page 287 : PIC_2_656_jpg
page 288 : pne~2.jpg and 1.jpg
Best regards

RE: confirmation list : Gerhard Voigt
The one attached just found on the current running mil321 auction
http://www.militaria321.com/auktion/553 ... 1%21%21%21
Though a Prof. Graf card "only", maybe of help to confirm. The "Spange" matches. No final clue in general.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
All added and index updated, thanks chris44 and George ! Phil, nice "Brandenburger" pic ! Wandrey surely presented by the Korps commander Felmy (Jäg.Rgt. 1 "BR" assigned to LXVIII. (68.) AK during this time period).
Here is the 2nd round review for the pages 181 - 210 :
Added to the No id list - possibly doubles, but still no id / or not yet treated :
page 182 : 50715550.jpg , not Herbert Berger, "FHH"
page 208 : SN852543b.jpg - Mannschaftsdienstgrad/Enlisted Man, with DKiG, and Verdienstauszeichnung für Ostvölker (?)
From the group of the all-time most requested :
page 183 :001(epier.com).jpg
page 184 : s3.jpg
page 191 : 2.jpg , 1.jpg (again) , since long time unsolved requests by our CiC Marcus

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
2nd round review :
page 196 : 56789.jpg - Franz Weller ?
status quo of ids / statements / discussion is : Utz in center , Franz Weller to his right
We had a decent round about Hubert Lanz plus many pics. Isn't the man in the center Lanz ? What about Weller ?
page 209 : 3230360.jpg
first id was Heinz-Jürgen Ißbrücker ; objection was : most probably No, because the reverse text says (and Ißbrücker wasn't KIA) :
"Eine kleine Erinnerung,
an meinen lieben Bräutigam,
deine Helga,
gefallen am 2. Aug 1943"

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
2nd round review : the Michael Fischer / Willi Hägele case
page 197 :86c1_1.jpg
left : Michael Fischer , id'ed - right : Willi Hägele , id'ed, but in fact Yes ?
There are a number of Flak photos, award ceremonies, too. A part of them with Fischer and Hägele (?) - I'm a bit confused and not convinced, therefore I ask again.
Michael Fischer is on the index with two clear (undisputed) ids : pp. 83 , 157
Willi Hägele is on the index with one clear id by Herbert, R.I.P. : page 138
Thanks in advance for a clear Yes on Fischer, and on Hägele. And/or for a clear correction.
Best regards
Bernd
