Hello all,

Could one help with identification of this person?

Heinrich Roeckl / AHF id

This photo was taken presumably in Estonia or in Leningrad region.

Would say Oberst Roeckl as well.

I would say Major Roeckl, because other photos in same set were taken in late summer and autumn 1941.

Another photo identified as Heinrich Roeckl was at das-ritterkreuz.de:

Face and uniform looks similar.

BTW, he has a Jäger badge on his right sleeve. Why? He served before as Jäger?

The bomber pilot on page 319 item 44.17 appears to be Wilhelm Schmitter. He was a first lieutenant when he got the K>C. according to Angola's On the field of honor.

It is not Schmitter in my eyes!
