ttvon,

Falck, the "father" of the German Nachtjagd (night fighter wing) was just one year older than Streib but higher ranked. Looks like Major - Oberleutnant here. He had a very characteristic nose, too. So, he is on the left.

Correction

This photo -> Jürgen Oesten , identified recently in fact does not show Oesten.
Argument : Herr Jürgen Oesten (Korv.Kpt. a.D.) himself says this is not him.
(info provided by a colleague watching)

Hi George,

I believe it is Generalmajor Augustin Malar. (see http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1399907)

I have a photograph in my collection, on which Otto Kretschmer wrote, while I was asking him, where the photograph was taken: "This is not me!". The problem: It is Kretschmer on the photograph. I compared nose and ears on other photographs and my opinion stays: It is Jürgen Oesten!

docarchiv,

ok, hm..., I will give this a further re-check. The suggestion/idea for the Kommandant possibly depicted is/was Harald Gelhaus. Difficult to say for me at the moment.

Bernd

Hello,

perhaps anybody can show us a photograph of Harald Gelhaus without hat. I am not a pedant. Perhaps I am wrong with Oesten!

Hello,

I compared the ear of OESTEN with the one of Gelhaus in the book of Manfred Dörr. I am pretty sure it is Gelhaus, Thank you Bernd!

I have placed it on the confirmations list (for the next days at least). Input / objections from third parties ?
If anyone finds a "without hat photo" of Gelhaus, please post, this would help, too.

Hello docarchiv,

the group pic above - A 1.jpg (143,82 KiB) - is a far better version than
page 193 : group pic by Baldrick - 1.ID summer 1944

So, what is to say for the start :
1) 1. Infanterie-Division , summer 1944
2) in the center : Generalleutnant Ernst-Anton von Krosigk
