Re: Bus/Omnibuss Photos
What unit would this bus be from?
Re: Bus/Omnibuss Photos
Funny, I've asked myself the same question but wasn't able to find anything. Some SS units have similar emblems (6.SS-Geb.Div. "Nord", 4.SS.Pol.Pz.Gren.Div., etc.) but the bus number plate says "WH". However, the pictures are very interesting, have you noted the difference? On the first one most probably the bus is almost "just captured" or "just pressed into service", on the second picture it is already "wehrmachtized":
1. New paint (grey I guess);
2. Unit emblem on the door;
3. Blackout caps on the headlights;
4. Tyre pressure markings on the fenders;
5. Width rods on the fenders;
6. The number plate is new, with standard letters/numbers.
The same person on the second pic is apparently thicker
Most probably also the leaf springs were changed, on the right side at least, note the height of the driver (I guess he's the driver) compared with the side windows. Or in shoes he was taller? I've just checked again, they are normal army shoes, not high heel ones
