Big thanks from me too, Reichssammler! Now for a leisurely trawl through Part 2. Thanks again!

Hello,

i was looking through the images of reichssammler, and i found this image. What are we seeing here? Is it an entrance to the chancellery located at the vosstrasse, is it an entrance to the fuhrerbunker, or it could well be an entrance to an u-bahn station.

Cor,

It looks like an underground entrance to the RC on the Volkstrasse side:

thanks rob,

i had my doubts, that is also could be an entrance to an u-bahn. i was not doubting but more hoping it could maybe be an entrance to the fuhrerbunker. :)

Yes...the matching tile and structural details give it away as the RC. :)

What is interesting is how both photos were taken at almost the same angle.

I don't think so...this is the one he used (I believe)...

I'm not an architectural engineer (or Speer :) ), but I think the black girders we see in your photo is the lift "skeleton" framework that has been blasted clear by bombing, while the lift was in the up position.

The picture above is dated 1974, and is one of the bunker entrances to the RC. Here are a few more, showing the same bunker(s)...
