A German plane in Bali
Good morning everyone,
I saw this interesting picture that was published recently in Bali, do you have any idea as to the circumstances ?? Perhaps it is related to my research work on the Monsun UBoats - http://monsun-uboats.blogspot.sg/

Posted your question on another location:

I'm thinking some sort of Fokker, but no clue which.
Good luck

Saw this at ACG and figured I'd post here as well.
99% sure that it's an Arado Ar96 in civilian colors.
The design of the empenage/fin would indicate that it's definitely an Arado "something".
Interesting picture.

No, not a 96 - it was a tandem two-seatetr...but this has quite a broad fuselage.
More like an Ar 79...? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arado_Ar_79

Re: A German plane in Bali
In fact - that's exactly what it is - here's the FULL picture!
http://andit2anggi.wordpress.com/2009/04/21/87/History made the D-EHCR under Oberstfuhrer Pulkowski and Oberstfuhrer Jenett,
such as on a flight to Australia with the launch on 17 December 1938 for a
non-stop flight between the cities Bengasi (Libya) and Gaya (India) with a
range of 6,303 kilometers a new long-haul aufstellten world record, the old
record of more than 2,000 km exceeded.
After stopovers in Bangkok, on Sumatra and Bali reached on 14 pilots January
1938 Darwin and 16 Sydney in January 1938.
When returning to Germany plunged the D-EHCR 10 February 1938 for a flight
in Madras after the collision with a bird of prey, while the pilot died
Pulkowski and an Indian passenger.
