In Ivan's video there are lyrics, yes, but only from the refrain. There's another version of the song, in which is sung also a stanza...

[Split from "The official AHF Third Reich music quiz thread"]

Anyone know the history of "Sieg Heil Viktoria", when did they wrote it?

"Rózsika" (Hungarian "Erika") lyrics

Post by Ivan Ž. » 29 Oct 2012 15:30

Does anyone have the original lyrics (3 strophes) for Hungarian variant of Niel's "Erika"? Lyrics were written by Dr. Szendrő Endre and published by Rózsavölgyi és Társa, Budapest, in 1942.

The first strophe is:

  • Kint a pusztán nyílik egy szép rózsaszál,
    a neve Rózsika.
Minden álmom, minden vágyam arra száll,
    ahol jár Rózsika.

Mert a csókja édes, annyi szent,
    kis köténye illatozva leng.
Kint a pusztán nyílik egy szép rózsaszál,
    a neve Rózsika.

Thanks very much in advance,
Ivan

I don't have the lyrics. Sorry. But original edition might be still available for sale from Musikantiquariat Adam Bosze -

195. Niel, Herms: Rózsika. Kint a pusztán nyilik egy szép rózsaszál.Erika. Dal és induló – Budapest, cop. 1942, Rózsavölgyi és Társa. VNR. Gebraucht. 15.-

I do not profit from any sale. :D
If we become increasingly humble about how little we know, we may be more eager to search.

Here is what I could recognize. Please help if you can.

Dear SQ37, thanks very much for trying to identify the lyrics, I really appreciate it, but I believe you got more parts wrong than right. I keep forgetting to try to write down the lyrics myself; but as soon as I do, I'll post them of course. Just a brief note, without even checking, I remember that the part you heard as "Vergiss mir nicht mein Schätzelein, mein Sönnenschein" is in fact "für dich, für dich allein, mein Sonnenschein" (for you only, my sunshine).

Edit: OK, here are the lyrics written by hearing by a German friend of mine and myself. We remained uncertain about the 3rd line (1st strophe), but the rest should be at least 99% correct.

  • Es blüht ein Röselein

I have no doubt that there could be mistakes because my only knowledge of Goethe's language is from listening German music. :)
