Re: railwaygun ID
Hello,
Emmanuel, it is only the consequence of my bad english writing!
The 340 mm modèle 1912 is, of course, "retubé" to 240 mm (relined).
The gun use two different "affûts" one standard of 37° for 50.000 m range and an other for the firing to 60.000 m at 50° (an auxiliary mount). The mount forward the 38 cm SKL/45 is a "affût d'expérience" and used for static ballistic firing.
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.

I perfectly understand the difficulties of "technical" English for non-native speakers, a group to whom I belonged as well.ALVF wrote:Hello,

Re: railwaygun ID
Hello,
I think it is a 305 mm TM-2-12.
A similar photograph is in a great book on russian Artillery (1158 pages!), printed in cyrillic letters (I have some difficult to understand!).
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.

Re: railwaygun ID
Thank you for your answer, Guy François.
Do you know which are the distinguishing features of this model to differentiate it from the other two models?
On the other hand I am looking long time ago for a decent wartime image of an 180mm TM-1-180 railgun? Anybody?
Regards Sturm78

Hi all,
I think an 130mm B-13 M1936 soviet naval gun on a makeshift railway carriage.
Does anyone know how many of these guns were converted to railway use?

Re: railwaygun ID
I can read "NSB NORGE" on the railcar on the right. NSB is the name of the railroad national company in Norway. So the picture would have been taken there.
I think the gun is the 7,5 cm fortress gun mounted on a flatcar since the end of WW1and that was part of the coastal defenses of Narvik.
Also note the similarity of the mounting with the mounting of the 5 cm KwK L/42 or L/60 used along the AW.
The following Norwegian website (see at the bottom of the webpage) mentions the 7,5 cm fortress gun mounted on a flatcar but shows a different gun as the "possible 7,5 cm gun". But the gun on that picture seems a little bit too small to be of a 7,5 cm caliber and looks to me like a 3,7 cm SK C/30.

Re: railwaygun ID
After further research, I strongly believe that the gun on Sturm78's picture is a 12 pdr 12 cwt QF (7,62 cm caliber)of British origin with a part of the barrel missing. See here for comparison:
http://navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_3-40_mk1.htm
So, it could be the "7,5 cm" fortress gun used by the Norwegians but with an actual caliber of 7,62 cm or a gun installed by the British forces while in Norway.
