Hi gerardkenny,

Next to Wahrburg has to be then GenMj Paul Willi Körner. Ldw Kmdr Dresden 01.03.37 then re-activated 01.10.37. Not many would be wearing glasses and was awarded the Komtur-Klasse of the Sächsischer Militär-St. Heinrich-Orden.

Cheers

It has been recently posted an album on historical-media from an officer serving with the 305 ID.The period seems to be 1944/45 when the commander of that ID was Generalmajor Friedrich von SCHWELLNITZ of which I do not know any picture.
Which one of these generals is SCHWELLNITZ ?
Could anybody post a portrait/picture of this general to be able to compare with?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Miocid,

Don't cut off the good stuff. The caption, as far as I can make out, said: Besuch des Heeres-, Heeresgruppen-, Armee-, Korpsintendanten bei Verwaltungstruppen 305 ID.

That would suggest Josef Vichytil Höheren Nachschub-Fhr. I/kmdrt. zum WM-Bevollmächtigten in Italy. It agrees somewhat with the pathetic pics from the Houterman site but seriously contradicts with what I thought, unconfirmed, was Vichytil that I have over the years.

The other problem is... he was walking way in front of the other gen with spectacles. So Vichytil/Schellwitz wouldn't work as Schellwitz was senior to Vichytil.

Miocid

In your image of the three RKTs above (Unknown RKT92) the General at the right looks very like Ewald v. Kleist.

Hi Elwyn,

the correct spelling of the handwrighting indicates the visit of the Heeresintentant and the Heeresgruppenintendant. At least they were Generalintendant or in higher rank!
Apparently also the Armee- and the Korpsintendant (surely in lower ranks) are present.
The names are unknown to me.

Cheers

Hello, guys!

RK generals is GdI Viktor von Schwedler and most likely GL Helmuth Schlömer. RK officer probably Oberst Erdmann (Kradschützen-Bataillon 53).

Best wishes
Ruslan

Hi Ruslan,

Man did look like Schlömer ... but the date he took over 3 (mot) ID was 01.04.42 and this didn't look like WK III in Heimat or Russia in 04.42. Erdmann was killed 15.04.42.

The other also looked like v Schwedler -- he wore all types of glasses: monocle, pince-nez, spectacles. And many pics to show him without WW1 EK spange. He was wounded and was in FhrRes at this time? The rather loose jacket seems to suggest he was still in recuperation.

As to ObstLt Albrecht Erdmann, no cleft on his chin. Hmmm.... plus the date of death

Cheers

Damn, it complicates things. I originally thought von Schwedler and Schlömer could cross between 1 and 15 April (Spring in the south is hot enough :) ), but at this time 3 I.D. (mot.) was not under "South" sector. :x Then just a couple of options: 1. Not Schlömer, not Erdmann; 2. It is Schlömer, but not Erdmann (Then who? Erdmann's successor?)

Best wishes
Ruslan

Middle gen in 412-13 looks like Kurt v. Briesen. We also see a bunch of Hungarian officers there.... so LII. Korps in HGr. Süd which means the other has to be Karl Sachs of 257. ID.
