Re: Unit emblems identification help
Can anyone help with this symbol - an open square on on corner, possibly with a color in the center?

Re: Unit emblems identification help
Curious about this unit ID. They are also wearing the emblem on their caps.
Thanks

Charlemagne, I think that you've missed the point of this thread. It is for the identification of insignia not for you to post photographs of already identified insignia.
Toten39, That looks like 46 Infanterie Division to me and the tactical sign looks like a non-motorised Engineer unit.

help in identification of unit emblem
Hi everybody, i found this photo of two soldiers of the Luftwaffe in the province of Belluno, in the Dolomites, in the Alpenvorland, but i can't identify the unit. There is a unit emblem on the right mudguard of the vehicle. I think this unit can be the Luftnachrichten-Regiment 352 "Clausewitz", but i'm not really sure.

Re: Unit emblems identification help
I have conflicting information on the below two tanks, are they from the 3rd or 4th Panzer Division?

Re: Unit emblems identification help
The first tank is from PzRgt 35, 4.PzDiv. In the Ron Klages Section there is a thread 'Vehicles with unit markings' where Francy Ritter posted the same photo and misidentified the tank as being from 3.PzDiv (15.07.2005). A few postings later Christoph Awender corrected him (19.07.2005).
I remember your 2nd photo from somewhere, being a tank from PzRgt 6, 3.PzDiv, but I doubt the tank is from that unit. All the photos I have from this unit show the bear on an escutcheon (?)

Both tanks are from PzRgt 35, 4.PzDiv - several photos with white or black bear, facing left or right - PANZERREGIMENT 35 - Das Regiment mit dem Bären

Re: Unit emblems identification help
Hi all,
thats my first post in this topic so please be patient with me.
I have found the attached photo which shows a unit marking on the 10cm gun and the halftrack pulling it. Is it possible to identify these markings? The photo was taken in early 1940 in the area of XXX corps, 95th ID.
I know that s.Art.Abt 446 was in that area at the time if that helps.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Martin

Re: Unit emblems identification help
I instantly remembered having seen this Panzer IV before. Nothing to do with the tac sign but rather the very distinctive, vulturous looking chicken on the turret! The tank - plus chicken - appears as a colour print in the centre pages of 'PzKpfw IV in action' printed by Squadron/Signal in 1975. Is this a first for chicken recognition?Marcus Wendel wrote:I have conflicting information on the below two tanks, are they from the 3rd or 4th Panzer Division?
