Hi,
It's not AA6 (mot). It's Aufklärungs-Abteilung 6, part of the 6. Infanterie-Division

Hi Nimbus,
you are absolutly right! The 6. ID was in the West.
The AA 6 needs a (mot): "Am 15. Oktober 1935 wurde die Abteilung in Aufklärungs-Abteilung (motorisiert) 6 umbenannt." ----> LdW
On Oct. 15th, 1935 the Abteilung.. was renamed AA6 (mot).

Hi Bf110,
now´s the question which date is correct. The Volksbund states 21.9.1939.
BTW, on the death card of my great uncle is the information that he fought in a Mountain Infantry Regiment (Gebirgsjäger unit) which is not correct as he never was a member of such troops.
Cheers,
Roman

Poland 1939 KIA German officers
When did the book say Feuilly became interested in Poland?
I know there was the Polish National Revolution from about 1830-34 because I came across it in my research on the Marquis de Lafayette. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows things I could read on the Polish National Revolution.

Re: Poland 1939: KIA German officers
I assume Ober-Gruppe is polish Grupa Górna.von Bahrfeldt Joachim, 07.02.1915, Oblt., Pz. Lehrabt., 3. Pz. Div., 04.09.1939 (Ober-Gruppe, bestattet in Fürstenwalde / Spree), H. Gru. Nord (fälschlich von Bahrfeld)
But there's a photo of his grave laying between two another soldiers, that died in Grupa Dolna (according to Volksbund).
So he must have died in Grupa but it is not clear wheather it was Grupa Górna or Grupa Dolna.
Both villages are very close to each other, 5 km west of Grudziądz (Graudenz).

Re: Poland 1939: KIA German officers
I stumbled on this thread when researching a photo of Oblt. Euen that I will be selling and can confirm this information. The backside of the photo has "Leutnant Euen, 4.(MG)Kp.IR19. Oblt. 1938. Am 1.9.39 als Kommandant eines Panzerzuges gefallen.", described by a veteran. Below is his portrait.Njorl wrote:Do you have any hard proofs for this information? So far we only speculated ...Domen121 wrote:Oberleutnant Euen was the commander of Eisenbahn-Panzerzug 3.:Euen Erich Albert Gustav, 08.02.1914, Oblt., -, -, 01.09.1939 (Bhf. Konitz), VB

It was seriously damaged on 01.09.1939 (Polish accounts say about 40 accurate hits).

Hello
Such a picture came out at the auction.
General Paul Otto bends over the grave. I am describing the rank of lieutenant, date of death on September 10, 1939, and the inscription: Głowaczów. Together with the general. He can decipher the name. What kind of a person is that the grave is visited by the general himself. People remember the plane and the general, only that he did not die and the Lieutenant
