hi,

both ships, acquired from Norway early in 1939 and re-named, were requisitioned by the Kriegsmarine as submarine training target ships in 1939 already, according to Groener, vol. 5, ANGELBURG in September and AHRENSBURG in December, 1939.

Hi,

Regarding Nobby`s post from 25-09-2016, page 5. The reason why i did not replied, my 18½ year old cat died one day earlier
and these pictures came into oblivion.
And last week my father(73) broke his hip in the local subway, altough he was very lucky he could break everything, sometimes life hurts   .

Well life goes on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iam also thinking this is U 128, it looks like Ulrich Heyse.

Hi Ron
I was hoping the "experts" would have confirmed these two by now! I agree with U 128 but have a doubt regarding U 168, the best way to id Pich would be a Luftwaffe badge. I cannot see one on the foto, how about you?

Hello to all :D; a little contribution............................

Leaving Lorient!
U 68 under Albert Lauzemis arrival in Lorient on 16-06-1943 entering the Scorff-Bunker.The river behind U 68 called ``Port de Guerre``.
She was only five days at sea and had to return damaged, that`s the reason why she is so low in the water,
probably she did not fired any of her torpedos.
I have an original pic of U 170 and this is the same river, this boat also returned damaged on 03-08-1944,Lorient.
In fact they were leaving port to carry out a new patrol.............................
