Yes, you are right, one of my sources was apparently mistaken. The correct Einheit should be the Beobachtungsabteilung 41. As for Brennfleck, I do not have any further data, as the info comes from the biorgaphy Georg Angermaier, 1913-1945 (1994), and not a military history book or an official document.

OK, now it has more sense. I still missed this Abt. (and its Kdr.), thanks
Can You at least tell me Brennfleck's rank ? It seems unlikely to me that Angermaier mentioned him in his biography without his rank........

In 1940, his rank was mentioned as Hauptmann and Kommandeur of Beobachtungsabteilung 7 in München.

Sorry but I have in 1940 other higher officers as Kdre. of Abt.7, maybe was he "in the Abt." or shortly as "a deputy" ? By the way, sure that he commanded in 1943 the Abt.41 ? Source ?

[Sorry for usurping the thread, maybe the last messages should be split]

As I mentioned above, Brennfleck is mentioned passim in Antonia Leugers: Georg Angermaier, 1913–1945, Matthias-Grünewald-Verlag, 1994. In page 66 is written: Am 7. August wandte sich Miltenberger nach einem Textentwurf von Angermaier an den Kommandeur der BE7 in München, Hauptmann Brennfleck. Apparently, I misread the text again, for the unit is Beobachtungs-Ersatzabteilung 7.

A short passage in page 157 that claimed the BA41 enjoyed a very good reputation and reads "Im April [1943] erhielt Brennfleck die Spange zum EK I als Auszeichnung für die Leistungen seiner Abteilung. Im Mai notierte er, sein Wort gelte bei höheren Stellen mehr als das seines Regiments-Kommandeurs".

Hello
If the appointment list really reads Stiotta Kdr. Pi.Btl."292", then list + data are wrong

An old question, of course, but I now have the answer:

Generalveterinär Dr. med. vet. Franz de Paula Clemens Maria Werner
* 06.02.1889 in Neulerchenfeld bei Wien [ab 01.01.1892 XVI. Bezirk]
† 26.06.1970 in Wien-Margareten

Eltern: Eisenhändler Johann Werner & Theresia, geb. Heinrich (why the surnames in this family had to sound like first names?)

verh. am 28.10.1920 mit Adele, geb. Schnepf (1892–1969); 1 Tochter, 1 Sohn

Thank you, Jake!
Er ist wieder da. Aber auch dieses Mal wird er nicht siegen!
