Hi!
This is Olaf THUNESTVEDT from Bergen/Norway, he was within the 1./SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt. 23 "NORGE" and later in February transferred to 10./SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt. 23 "NORGE". He was experienced close-combat spesialist. In 1945 he attended an Unterführerlehrgang at Tr.Üb.Pl. Hammerstein when the unit was transformed into the SS-Kampfgruppe Scheibe. He got his EK I during combat with this unit in Pommern and was KIA around 11.2.45. he was buried in Rosengarten. Today unknown.

Re: unknown officers of the regiment Norge
Olav Thunestvedt is shortly mentioned (with picture, same as above) in the norwegian book De som falt (those KIA), by Erik Veum, page 302. Veum states that Thunsestvedt was KIA in Kappel, Poland, 11.2.1945 and buried in Szcecin (Stettin).
Date/place of birth is 20.03.1921 in Osterøy.

There were three Rosengarten in Pommern, as far as I know:
- one was part of Altdamm
- one in Kreis Randow
- one in Kreis Stolp

Re: unknown officers of the regiment Norge
Sorry Jan, I am not sure which Rosengarten, the letter from Denmark did not specify.
Re: unknown officers of the regiment Norge

Re: unknown officers of the regiment Norge
Hi, I' m sure Olaf Lindbom is to the right, and the person to the left must be Alf Pettersen. Lindbom is a relative, and looking through old family photos I'm sure that he is sitting to the right. I have asked about the origin of this photo before. Is it from a private collection or a book? I'm interested in more information. Can anyone tell me?

No.1 and No.2 are too much west for KGr. Scheibe, No.3 to much Northeast...
