Other Stackpole books
Other Stackpole books
Currently have Kurt Meyers Grenadiers, Michael Wittmans Volume 1 and 2 and 12th SS. These are all probably the most popular and were my first books that I bought, but now am looking for something different.
What can you recommend me?
Thank you

Re: Other Stackpole books
For Germany is another good biography. It is on Otto Skorzeny. The SS officer that coordinated Mussolini's rescue in 1944.

Re: Other Stackpole books
Lots of Stackpole books are great. Death of a leaping Horseman and Island of Fire are first rate
Re: Other Stackpole books
Just a caution, Stackpole books are "Perfect Binding" (glued in pages)
The most imperfect binding ever used for books......
"My hat and scarf Nester"...

Greetings Forward00
Winter Storm is good, but I haven't read War of the White Death.
You also might like Mechanized Juggernaut, about horses in the German Army. Armor Battles of the Waffen SS and Tigers in the Mud all are from Stackpole.

Re: Other Stackpole books
"Beyond Stalingrad" is a very, very dry analysis of Manstein's reaction to the Soviet Winter counteroffensive 42-43- It's hard to comprehend/enjoy fully without studying texts of Glantz and Nipe & some unit histories.
Panzer Aces I-III are poorly written, unsourced biographies most probably assembled from biographical and award data- part fiction, part fact. Not "useless" but worth browsing at best.
