Translation Requests
Re: Translation Requests
Thank you WELLGUNDE I think that may be a possibility
Re: Translation Requests
Stu, Someone at ISJP might have the answer. As you know, they have a Q&A section. Send Ron Casey an email.

Re: Translation Requests
It appears it could be some sort of a field post office MOPS code (Money Orders Postal Savings). The army used sen 戦as a prefix and the navy used kan 艦. The MOPS codes for the individual FPOs were assigned in I-Ro-Ha order and written with the prefix followed by two hiragana characters. Usually you see the code in the bottom portion of a fiscal cancel. Since this code is “Sen” followed by the single character “ka” it could possibly be some sort of internal accounting code for individual forms. Does the marking appear in a box on the form? Can you post an image of the complete document?
Re: Translation Requests
Hello, newbie to the forum here. I'm more of a Japan numismatic banknote collector and have recently came across a few war bonds that's fairly cheap. I purchased them to add to my collection.
I'm not sure if this has been requested before but is someone able to tell me what the texts mean? I'm more interested in the middle section, above the issue date, price and maturity date.
The entire war bond Section I'm interested in a translation Thank you once again and apologies if it's been asked before (will take me forever to trawl though 100+ posts) or if this is the wrong section to post.

This is the right place but your photobucket account needs to be updated for us to see the photos. Otherwise, you can click on the img tab in the compose a post box and insert the photos here directly without have to go through a third party.Kitagawa wrote:I'm not sure if this has been requested before but is someone able to tell me what the texts mean? Sorry, I've fixed it now, didn't realise photobucket free account has such limited allowance.

Re: Translation Requests
Could someone please help me with this IJAAF term?
航空警戒手
It was paired with an entry for an air intelligence regiment in a soldier's techou. Is it something as simple as a "watcher" for air raids, or was this someone who manned a specific piece of equipment like radar? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi,
I apologise for double posting - I originally posted this in the Generals photos topic, but without success, so I thought I would try here.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
VJK
