Here a nice one. Who is that Oberst? He reached rank of Generalmajor one year before WW1 ended.

Another member of the family reached the rank of full general 56 years later.

According to my files, there were only 3 k.u.k. Fmlt. who served in the Republic:

Adolf von Boog (C-in-C Volkswehr)
Karl Freiherr Czapp von Birkenstetten (Retired 1 Nov 1920)
Maximilian Ritter von Hoen (Director of the Military Archives)

From facial recognition, I would say that your man is Boog.
