1 GTC relinquished almost all remaining tanks/SP guns to other units when it was withdrawn from the Narew bridgehead in October/November so all that was left was 3 or 4 tanks in the corps HQ. A new complement of AFVs was received beginning from late December. The corps was in action from 15 to 23 January coming a way from Nasielsk to Brodnica, after a period of rest it was committed again on the western side of Vistula on 31 January. Like other independent corps of the 2 Belorussian Front (8 GTC and 8 MC) 1 GTC was employed to smash though German defenses (as infantry was unable to make a complete breakthrough) suffering considerable losses in the process.

In Fire Brigades and in december and the total… in 12/44 only the Panther Bn full have 60, 14 by Company + in HQ

From a comparison between different documents it appears that a battalion was called "strong" (starke) when its combat strength was above 400 men, "average" (mittelstarke) - between 300 and 400, "mediocre" or "weakened" (durchschnittliches) - less than 200 (but more than 100 probably). Still there is a question how mobility was calculated.

Also from a review of divisions it looks that worst were placed on the southern wing of the 4 Army along the Narew River, whereas divisions in the northern (left-wing) sector facing probably Soviet offensive were among the best.

Unfortunately no detailed OOB for a later date is available, even though there was some reshuffle of the corps HQ and arrival of new formed fortress units, and some other changes probably.

The previously posted 4th Army OOB (German Docs in Russia) being a case in point. I would be very interested if similar detail survives for 3rd Panzer and 2nd Armies.

Thank you ! but i think the 3rd column + 5 and/or 7th is the real strentgh of the unit number of men present i see rather the 1st for TOE in theory
and seems a lot seems impossible in january 1945 a ID to 16000 mens ! number of 1941 17700 ... in general i have in average in 01/1945 ID a good ID to 12000 mens do about 2 Russians, Jagers/Light ID/Mountains Divs are a little more small but elite units as the 78 ID, the 1 Ski Jager have even T-34 and Stug !

And a problem for 28 Jag and 21 ID.

But worck for Mech units and 18 PZG have only 4 Mot Bns, Brandenburg also
but she hav send as PZG GD one Mot Bn in Korps Fusillier Rgt GD with PZK elements
in addition Brandenburg don't have Stug Bde after joinin Rft to Lodz 16 january see previous posts former Stg Bde GD.
