Exactly the same. I was downloading just fine with Filezilla, then 550, then 530.

Edited: I was mistaken- I don't get 550. It goes straight to 530.

Two weeks ago, John was so kind to grant me access to his server again, and everything worked fine for some time. But now I'm encountering another problem. The last time, my access was denied after connecting to the server (obviously because my account was blocked). This time, I'm not even able to connect to the server at all. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

@askropp

did you check your firewall-settings?
I didn't and don't have any problems to connect to john's ftp-server.

John obviously can't give support for any ftp-client-application and local firewall problems...

This is not a firewall problem. The connection was interrupted during an active file transfer. I have since tried it with different FTP clients, but to no avail. I cannot imagine what I could have done wrong this time.

Hi:

I have added a new section on my server. Open the new folder titled 'More Folders' and you will see the following folders.

Army Map Service
Battle of Kharkov
Bessarabian Maps
Deutsche Karte Series P
Lage Ost
Lage Sud
Lage Sudost
Lage West
Maps 300K Eastern Europe
Poland 1939

Take a look and enjoy. The Lage Ost maps can be as large as 100MB. They display both German and Russian units down to the division level. Sometimes lower. Very seldom do you need to download every day as the unit movement may not be great. When you look at one you will see what I mean.

Regards,

John

John,

Do you have a solution to the password/access problems some of us are experiencing?

With thanks in advance,
~ Mike

Hi:

I have now designed my FTP login system so no one is blocked for the initial connection. More than one concurrent connection is blocked. If you insist on trying more than one concurrent connection go ahead but you are wasting your time. If you are still not able to login, PM me and I will try to fix the problem. There is no need to comment on this posting.

John
