Kelly s Heros is one movie that portrays WW2 from a more realistic standpoint that other political plot movies such as Saving Private Ryan,

Really? One of them had Dale Dye advising, one of them had nobody advising.

A very entertaining film ... realistic ? I don't think so.

I enjoyed it as a child. Cannot stand to watch it as an adult.

Filmed in Yugoslavia in the late 60s. One of the first western movies to mock up a T-34 to be a Tiger.

The parody scene of 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' was superb!

Kellys Heroes is a great movie with great actors. Saving Private Ryan would be better without Dale Dyles Vietnam style habits done to the actors. I only like the first 20 minutes, the rest is highly unrealistic US movie.

Longest day was a better film. It was an epic.

I did not like the positioning of Saving Private Ryan as the American D Day Myth. The plot is fanciful nonsense opnly a fraction less silly than Kelly's Heroes. I like Dale Dye. He did a great job training the Band of Brothers cast. He is an interesting chap.

Longest Day was a great afford in the 60´s, but from todays view not very accurate. But it gives a nice overview of the D-DAY.

SPR has a lot of very ridiculous scenes, like the useless attack of the already destroyed radar station.

Der längste Tag was good for reminding audiences that D-Day wasn't a one nation show.

And for the March of the Penguins. ;-)

I hate especially this movie, but less than "Castle Keep" ( 1969 ), by Sydney Pollack...

What about The Dirty Dozen or The Guns of Navarone or Catch-22 or ... See Kelly‘s Heroes for what it is - a funny film based on war starring a G.I. Dirty Harry as The good, Kojak as the bad and Odd-ball as the goofy. All up against das evil blondie. A good laugh with a few serious moments and much better than GofN. ’Allo ’Allo! Just my silly opinion.
