US Navy Archives Online

#1

Post by Hubi535 » 04 Dec 2018, 21:22

Hi, which online archive possesses the bigest collection regarding US Navy? I'm particularly interested in ship designs, action and damage reports, maps and manuals covering 1919-1953 period.

Yes, it's great site with great content which greatly helped in my research, there are no plans on Hyperwar unfortunetly.

Thanks, great site when it comes to technical aspects. I have already found many technical drawings there and found by it maritime.org which contains even more.

I know that site, it's resources are very scarce however. They have only Midway battle reports when it comes to WW2

You might find the odd bit here: http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/NHC/NewPDFs/ Not integrated into the main site yet.

We just added 203 new files in the past few weeks, with a few terabytes pending upload.

I thought the site is dead. Glad I was wrong

I'm official "Emeritus" right now, just uploading the files I had stored and contributions from other old fogies. The new honcho is dedicated to keeping it running and adding more material.
