E 676 in KVA D

I don't have the date from this map from Dirk T. but you can see E 676 observationpost south of Berck-Plage
and south of Waben, right under corner on the map, the battery . From what I could find of the 676 it was a
Eisenbahn Artillerie Abteilung and not a battery , could this be the E 655 ???

Hello Jos, Dirk

Indeed the EAA 676 ( abteilung) was in Belgium during the whole war but I remember there was a Stab battery E676 too in 1941 in Belgium that later moved away from Belgium.
I have this info on a gliederung somewhere in my archives. I will check and I will come back to you.

Abteilung 676
Stab s. Art. Abt. (mot.) 676
Stab s. Art. Abt. (mot.) 676 z.b.V.
E 676

- all the same unit, but never was an battery numbered 676

at the beginning of the war the unitname was Stab s. Art. Abt. (mot.) 676 z.b.V.
later changed into Stab Eisenbahn-Artillerie-Abteilung 676

-

you can see Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilung 769 on your map

both, 769 and Stab Eisenbahn-Art. Abt. 676 were under Stab Art.Rgt. (mot) z.b.V. in March 1941

Stab schwere Artillerie-Abteilung (mot.) 676 (Kommandeur Major Eberhard Zinsser, Adjutant Leutnant der Reserve Krüger) - Eisenbahn-Batterien 655, 717 und 718

Jos,

Here what I found about the Geräte Batterie (and not Stab) G.B.676
This unit was in the Zeebrugge area only a few months and was armed with 4x 15.5 cm FH 414 (f)

No trace on the Gliederung of 01-02-1943
First trace found on the Art.Gliederung from 01-04-1943
G.B. 676 (1).JPG
Still there in June 1943
G.B. 676 (2).JPG
G.B. 676 (2).JPG (125.72 KiB) Viewed 3689 times
Left Belgium together with E-Batterie E655 in august 1943
G.B. 676 (3).JPG
G.B. 676 (3).JPG (125.16 KiB) Viewed 3689 times
Probably worked together with the E655 as they moved together from KVA2 to KVA D at the same time.

Hello at all

soemtime in 1943 all Eisenbahn-Artillerie-Units gets an addional Geräte-Battery of s.F.H. with the same number for "Landeabwehr" and "Nahverteidigung" (most until May 1943)

so this Geräte-Batterry is part of the Eisenbahn-Unit itself no separate Unit, just some add guns ....

here you can see Gerät-Battery 710

in Nov'1943 the Gerät-battery 710 will transfer into 3./ Heeres-artillerie-Abteilung 1146
Gerät-battery 676 will transfer into 1./ Heeres-artillerie-Abteilung 1146
