Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
Are you translating this correctly ? What's the original German sentence?
Eigentum means ownership/property/possession, not the model, I think.

If we become increasingly humble about how little we know, we may be more eager to search.

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
Eigentum - property
155 eigentum - Indicates that there are 155 pistols in the military unit.
HJ - 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitlerjugend" ?
If so, then 155 pistols per division is normal.
Each officer had one pistol.

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
Hi, Hisname, HJ data is quoted from waffen breakdown of HJ division on Dec 31 1944
Orignial statement says :
3,709 x 9mm pistolen
996 x 7.65mm pistolen und 155 x Eigentum-Pistolen
That mean, this items is only for officers and separated from other pistol breakdown ?
BTW, 7.65mm pistolen means Walter PPK only ? Thank.

I apologize, but I do not have such good information. Almost all my knowledge about this, I have already written. Sorry.Kelvin wrote: ↑16 Jan 2019 04:37

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
Other possible 7.65 mm pistols
Sauer 38H
Browning 1910/22
Mauser HSc
All quite widely used by the Germans

Hi, Richie, thank for your data. I think Sauer 38H and Mauser HSc were right and but Browing 1910/22 is from Belgium or manufactured under German occupied Belgiun. In German report style, it belongs to Captured weapon list, not belongs to standard weapon list.

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
"Eigentumspistolen" are privatley bought and owned pistols by officers. The type is not specified nor the calibre. So it coulbe be 6,35mm or 7,65mm or 9mm of different manufactures. My uncle had a ridiculous small FN Baby 6,35 mm with absolutely no combat value, but he has been in an office all the war, so the gun was more a decoration item. My greatuncle carried a PP 7,65mm. He bought the gun after he got the permission by the Wehrmacht to do so (he gave the PP to the police in the early 80´s, which is a shame. But I was to young then).
I think there are hundreds of possible pistols if you want to create a list of types.

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
Fair enough - I thought I would include the Browning as it was a 7.65mm pistol used by the Germans - both captured from the Belgians and others and manufactured under their control.

Yep, exactly what I said, two days ago, so be prepared to have the simple answer ignored as the others continue down the rabbit hole.

Re: What is Eigentum pistol ?
the writing simply say its property of the NSDAP and part of the SA (Sturmabteilung) Alpenland not an specific Officer, which as far as i can tell was in Linz in Oberösterreich or upper Austria, so that it clearly shows its party property

http://www.tague.at/pistolen/index.htm? ... uer38h.htm and its very likely to be a sauer if you look at the grips it shows SS which stands for Sauer und Sohn
