About the image posted on 20 May 2014, Do you know if is a German equipment or British ??
Years ago i see one of this and it was probably Czech origins ( but i'm not sure)
17 june 2017 SA-126471
Carl Zeiss Jena Raumbild Entfernungs und Höhenmesser F1 2,00m 19X
Do you know if this Zeiss rangefinder is an export model ?? I never have seen this model of rangefinder in German use
I have seen one and it is WW1 modell ( CZJ serialnumber: 23011) in the box is swedish and finish writing , so probably sold to Sweden after WW1 and then to Finland.

Re: Id. Finnish equipment
Hi. This bag design was originally a magazine bag for Lahti-Saloranta m/26 light machine gun. Both machinegunner and his assistant had belt pouches for Lahti-Saloranta magazines, but machine gun team of that time also included four other soldiers who each carried these bags filled with loaded 20-round magazines. Each of those soldiers would have two of these bags - with each bag containing 10 loaded magazines. This was how the ammunition supply was organised before and during Winter War - with machinegun team carrying 90 loaded magazines (with 1,800 rounds in them) for the light machine gun. This proved to be excessive, so after Winter War the number of magazines carried for each Lahti-Saloranta was reduced considerably, which left lot of these bags vacant for other purposes and rest of World War 2 they got routintely used for carrying magazines and ammunition for all sorts of weapons, hand grenades etc.karjala wrote:Hi all!

The bag should have a sling, which seems to be missing in this case and also the lower strap going over the bag is not visible in the photos, so it might be missing as well. The sling would be attached on top two hooks. These bags seem to have production variations, with some of them (early production version?) have quite a lot of leather parts.

I have no idea about the range finder model, but SA 155209 that picture is not, which shows refugees from Ilmee on 22.06.1944, resting by the roadside.

Re: Id. Finnish equipment
Correct number is 152209, but IMHO photo №152209 caption is wrong. The similar one in Kansa Taisteli №7/1983, p.225: Luutnantti Leo Sarvimäki, ensimmäinen upseeri, on ottanut aluksen komentoonsa ja
ohjaa sen turvaan. - Lieutenant Leo Sarvimäki, the first officer, took command of the ship and guide it (Gunboat "Uusimaa") to safety place

Re: Id. Finnish equipment
Strangely the captions (and seemingly other info too) of the SA-photos #155987 and #152209 have changed places.
