Sorry, it's a Hermann Aurich PAB reproduction.

Hi v t
When answering this sort of question, can you say why you believe an object is fake or genuine?
Is this one fake because the letters under the pin on the back are embossed not debossed [or vice versa] or should not be there at all?
Is the pin clasp wrong?
Should it be steel, not brass?
What exactly is wrong?
Beginners need to know what to look for.
Cheers
Max

Beginners need to research, from what I've read here those that are able to tell the difference can do so because they've studied. If they told every person exactly what was wrong with an item every time the pieces were posted those trying to produce fakes would be able to do so at a much more passable rate. I'm quite new here but seeing how many fakes there are it would be my guess they stay a bit vague to prevent an increased rate of fakes. When I see a post where the piece has been called a fake, I research the item to find out why. May be a good direction for you.

I thought that this forum was for research.

Imagine if all sources of information were only full of bald assertions.eg "It's a fake" with no additional detail.
What would you learn from that?
Saying that more information will encourage the fakers only aids the fakers.

6.1 Questions

In the research sections of the forum, we ask the posters to be reasonably well-prepared, and not ask others for information which they could easily get for themselves. The purpose of these sections of the forum is to provide a place where historical matters can be intelligently discussed.
It is not a research service.
OK - I take your point.
However, if more information is known, it would be generous to share it , or a least give a link to where the information might be found.
Anyone abusing this generosity will be promptly told.

OK,

A dangerous fake that causes a lot of confusion
Better stand up ;
The tank is decentered and has flaws in perspective
Some details do not match the original....'flooding' of material around the far left roadwheel, eagle's left wing, a big headlight, etc

Thanks von thoma
That's exactly the sort of useful info I was hoping for.
I did look up other sources to compare with your image as suggested by Almost_Samurai , but it was good to have your analysis as a starting point
Thanks again
