Hello again,
The only thing I can read here is "Hauptmann Thiel".
Does the text say Rittmeister?

Hi Greg,

Agree so far, but for the last two words I read
...in Wittensee.
At the banks of Wittensee there was a Luftwaffe base water Airport before WW2.
As the front page is never posted, maybe Dimitrii can confirm about a Luftwaffe uniform.

Hi Greg and Armin,

Wow, what a quick and detailed help! Yes, it is a Luftwaffe Offizier indeed.

The Wittensee in question is in Schleswig-Holstein I see: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klein_Wittensee

Very interesting!

This possibly needs some correcting...
Zur Erinnerung 12 Jahre Traum Dienstes
die dann klare 2. Eskadron 18. Reiter Reg

Balck
Rittmeister
Looks like it was signed by future Panzerleader Hermann Balck !

Hi Greg,

Two minor corrections:

Zur Erinnerung 12 Jahre treuen Dienstes

Die dankbare 2. Eskadron 18. Reiter Reg.

............
Mettingen a/N
1929

"a/N" could stand for "am Neckar"
Is there an image on the other side with a possible hint of the first line?

Thanks!

It is from the image of Hermann Balck.
So I guess the first line is "H. Balck"
