Matthew,
Thanks for your input. There was a language barrier in my last quote. It’s called Single Malt.😆

I finally get it - you are a dealer, so you must break out the calipers and scales. As a duty to your clients.

I’m a collector and researcher. At this stage of the game, I’m confident which of my items are real and when I’ve been burned by a fake.
Yes, it sucks to get burned by a fake, I heartily agree. Anyone who says they haven’t just started collecting.

We could have cut to the chase faster had I just posted the documents, and not the medals, then our interests would have probably diverged immediately. I’m past the caliper stage on the items in my collection that I enjoy and research.

I can understand that’s the one of the best ways to determine authenticity, together with weight of known originals, die marks, tool marks etc.

There are also better ways of acquiring originals than buying from dealers.

Well we live and learn. My sincere best wishes in your collecting career.

Many collectors are past the calipers stage of their collecting. They are typically those who end up with reproductions they bought because they sparkled pretty.

I wish you luck with your research. Hopefully it will be more successful than that into my background as a militaria dealer.

Do let us know when you figure out the maker of the WWF badges. Even of it's just one out of many.

Biting Riposte! Let me guess - you are a collector!!

If I were a W W Fü Badge I’d want to be made by Juncker.

My next shiny purchase, without using calipers, will be this shiny beauty!

I rarely sell. If this piece was ever to leave the collection it's currently a part of, I'd imagine it wouldn't surface again for a long time, if ever.

There's a possibility Juncker was behind one of the types of WWF badge but I am skeptical it's behind all or even 3 I know of.

Matthew -
My research skills are first rate.
You are a collector, a trader, and a self proclaimed expert. You underestimate me.

I will say you highly overestimate yourself, judging from the knowledge I’ve gained in my research about you.

Juncker did produce W Wi Fü badges, especially in 37, 38, wouldn’t you agree?
Were you trying to test me, trying to say I was an idiot on an Item I know intimately well?

If you rarely sell such fantasy creations as the one you treasure, that is your business. Did you use the calipers on that one? No. Didn’t think so. Tell me, do you know how many items were copied to create the fake you revere?

Will you please give us, now, the measurements and weight on your special fantasy badge? If any others turn up, we want to check ours for accuracy against yours.

Judging by the badges you think are or have a chance of being original, I would actually worry if you liked the badge I posted above.

The awful cast fake of the WWF you thought was original is my new personal favorite. Yours as well, I assume, since you know those intimately well as you claim.

Congrats on your research.

Nice, Matthew!
Two can play st that game, eh?
What year was that? I remember that! That was a blunder on my part alright.

Is that why you posted the fake fantasy basge after I posted 3 legitimate GPBs, to insult me?

I guess I was too naive, ‘Why is this chap posting a bad fantasy badge after I posted my GPBs, to insult me? Because he thinks the GPBs are bad?’

Or was the whole thing a setup, and you were going after me no matter what? That’s what it seems like, in retrospect.

Well, good Oppo research. At least you didn’t find the photo of me as a young sub-altern with my foot jammed in a drainage pipe.

I actually heard a few good things about you, asking around, but I excluded them, of course.

Here’s a couple in my collection, I enjoy them.
They aren’t too shabby.

Since we’re going back to Wehrmacht Award Forum days, here’s one of the few posts I made back then that I’m proud of:

Horst Wessel lying in state.
