Deadlight
Re: Deadlight
Hello,
I think the first boat is U 281 cause it's seams we can see two white bulls in front of the conning tower.
And for the second, i think this is U 1165.
Best regrards,
Lionfish.

Re: Deadlight
Anyone have any other photos of Deadlight? Looking for any of U 1271, on which my uncle 1WO Ewald Uechtritz served.
Re: Deadlight
Yes ! You have the submarine of your uncle on criticalpast web page :
https://www.criticalpast.com/video/6567 ... -submarine
From the fourth picture, you can see the submarine with the number 1271 painted on the tower.
I hope i give you a good help.
Best regards,
Lionfish.

Re: Deadlight
My fathers ship - HMS Hargood - was involved in Deadlight or more accurately Operation Pledge which was the rounding up of surrendered U-boats
------------------------------------------
The Hargood was tasked with escorting a flotilla of six of the surrendered U-boats from Wilhelmshaven, Germany, to Lisahally, Northern Ireland.
The six U-Boats in the flotilla were: U 3008, U 2356, U 2351, U 2341, U 2336 & U 883.
See my website for further info and pictures.
If anyone has any further info please get in touch

Re: Deadlight
Hello Lionfish,
Thank you very much for this!
I am sorry for my late reply as I thought any messages would come through as private messages with an email alert. I didn't understand the forum system.
Anyway, this is wonderful to see my uncle's U-1271.
I have ordered the clip.
Much appreciated,
max
