WW2 Russian sources printed in the 1990s

I have heard that in the 1990s the Russian government published a large series of book made of archives from WW2. Something like 80 volumes.

Could you give the exact reference of this publication?

I have heard this earlier set was good:

12 volume Official Soviet History of the Second World War 1939-1945 edited by Marshal G.A. Grechko, 1973-1982.

The story I was told was specifically about a post-USSR (but pre-Putin) publication.

Are you talking about the Russkij Arhiv material? 17 volumes I think. There was some other collections of documents (at least one concerning West Front) but doubt they can be found outside of Russia. ART or AMVAS might know more.

"Russkiy Arhiv" (Russian Archive) was a multi-volume series published by the Terra Publishing in Moscow in 1990s-early 2000s under official ageists. There were less than 80 volumes though, as far as I can figure out.

As you can see from numbering not all intended volumes were published.

That must be it, thanks. If the story I heard counted the number of actual books, not the "volumes" as listed in the table of contents, it sums up to more than 50.

I was also told they did not print more than 500 copies per volume, which sounds right for such technical data.

Should anyone find a link to a photographs or to excerpts, it would be much appreciated.

Don't know about the number of copies printed (it's not shown anywhere), but at least in the second half of 2000s some volumes were still available for order from the publishing house.

There are 43 volumes of "Sbornik boevykh documentov Velikoq Otechestvennoi voiny" (Compilation of military documents of Great Patriotic war" It was printed from 1947 to 1960. On Russian. Regardly, quality of scan is bad, especially in early volumes. That depended from low quality of printing in 1940s -1950s.
These complexes of documents included matherials about Red Army's strategic operations along all war, documents about application of different branches (armored troops, infantry etc) and some examples for differet tactical situations
