Hello all. I am new and this is my first post.
I recently bought (supposedly) a 1935 aluminium policeman helmet for 10€. I’ve created an account to seek more information on it.
I have not seen many helmets with a 3 hole design on the internet, so I was wondering if you could help me elucidate this mystery.
I like this helmet because it has a personal touch on the inside, the name of the policeman, which I find nice.
I also wondered how I could repair the leather-work inside. Not planning on doing a paint job (no way) but making it « functional » again would be fun. (Any dimensions/drawings to know about ? Any photos of similar helmets leather-straps and such ?)
So yeah, I hope it has an interesting story of some sort. I also hope I’ll be able to repair it someday. And thanks in advance

Usually these would have 4 holes for the liner, 2 on each side. This one was probably modified for substitute liner (like a hardhat liner or the like....) really doesn't matter for a shell in that condition but the price was right.
John G.
You can buy m34 civil liners on eBay occasionally. Postwar but really the same. You'd need liner pins and know what size the shell is.... Honestly I wouldn't bother.

I was just thinking making the leather work so it’s at least wearable. I’ll ask locals leatherworker for some help
