I Have a photo of my great great grandfather Rudolf Leuschner from Halle in his uniform. But i dont know which. The only thing i know, is that he was injured in France. Can anyone help?
Kind Regards
What German uniform could this be?
Re: What German uniform could this be?
If he was from Halle (Saale) then he would have belonged to the 8. Division - Kaiserliche Armee, they were involved in WW1 from the beginning at the Battle of Mons and spent the rest of the war in France fighting. Hopefully someone can confirm this.

Re: What German uniform could this be?
It looks like he was an NCO based on the buttons on the standing collar. The jacket looks like a 1903 Litewka (thus dating the picture after the introduction of that style). The plain colored collar patches and shoulder straps suggests to me that he might have been a member of the Landsturm or Landwehr.
Looking them up on the internet, I found some pictures that would seem to support this.
Note that the officers shoulder boards don't look correct in this picture.
