Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
I should think #77 is Wehrkreis-Intendant Eduard Siehr.

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
The photo with Rommel was taken on 2.5.1944 when he was visiting with KNIEß (Gruppe Knieß) and Botsch (Chef des Stabes AOK 19) two neighboring divisions in that area 338. ID (de l'Homme de Courbière) and 244. ID (Schaefer).
That info is from Hans Sakkers book 'Generalfeldmarschal Rommel, Commander-in-Chief of Heeresgruppe B for the preparation of the defense of Western Europe, 5 November 1943 to 6 June 1944. Daily course of affairs.'

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi,
Wehrkreis-Intendant Siehr is the guy in Münster in 1932 (#77), not the general in Belgium (#55)
Regards

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi,
you're correct. The date should be earlier, around january 1943. Then it fits. Thanks!

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi, the problem is the staff made several inspections along the southern borders, around January 1943, July 1943 and December 1943. It's a bit of a puzzle which were taken when.
