Does anybody know why he got the Blutorden?

beeing an austrian WW1 veteran, in the 1920s he was an actor in Munich (under the names "Wolf Strobl", "Wolf von Strobl"), in the 1930s he was given a posting in the Luftwaffe and ended the war beeing an Oberst in the Luftwaffe.
