Need help and authentication of 1939 Iron Cross

#1

Post by Col klink » 02 Feb 2020, 04:36

I just purchased this off a new dealer. It seems to be legit however I am not 100% sure on this, help would be appreciated. The center is magnetic I do not see any distinguishable marks on the ring. The 1939 seems a little faint compared to my world war one Iron Cross.
The black on the edge of the Cross seems a little funny.

Original EK II, but seems to have been treated with gloss paint or varnish, spoiling it

The dealer also has these two that I was looking at. They are $20 more piece. Was thinking about getting the one on the left. Any advice is welcomed! I'm new to collecting...

You over paid for the first example, definitely repainted core, replacement ribbon..... The other two look ok, can't say on the ribbons, but I wouldn't pay over $100.00 for either one.... It's not a rare medal.

Thanks John.
I think I'll get the one on the left also, and try to recoup on my 1st bought one...
