Questions:Michael Kenny wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 09:11It is all in the book and I was being sarcastic. I do not believe the Thaysen version of events.
1) were there other German tanks along with the Tiger II during the ramming incident?
2) The photo labelled ... Tiger I "213" of the 2./s.Pz.Abt.503 in Bourgtheroulde,France Aug.1944.
Is that a renumbered Tiger I from 3. Company 503rd?
3) what date is the photograph taken of Tiger 213, that is nose down in bomb crater at Mannevillie?
4) I've read accounts in two books of 2. Company 503 fighting an effective delaying action northwest of Troarn July 18. One account describes the 503 Battalion (1. and 2. Companies) moving on the 19th to Troan, and on the 20th stopping and Allied armour attack. Any comments about this?

Re: 503 Heavy Panzer Battalion Normandy
You 'read' lots of claims but (for example) a simple check of what was going on on July 20th reveals the only thing of note in that area was heavy German shelling of the infantry Units near Troarn. No British armoured attack of any description.dsbc wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 01:37
