Post by Leo Niehorster » 30 Oct 2019, 09:47

Greetings!
What general officers (positions and their ranks) were authorized in the headquarter staffs of
— Army Group, (for example, Commanding General: General; Chief-of Staff: ?)
— Army, (for example, Commanding General: Lieutenant General; ... ?)
— Army Corps (for example, Commanding General: Major General; ... ?)

Thank you

OK. This great little pamphlet describes in detail the functions of the various staff officers, but does not indicate their ranks.

I am specifically interested in which general officers (with corresponding ranks) were in the staffs of higher headquarters.

hello

concerning "general officers" several commands/functions in these HQ Staffs can be given to a Général de Brigade or "only" to a colonel
if this can help

Thank you Loïc. 👍

That is what I was looking for. I am going to assume that the highest rank shown for the various positions is the one authorized by the tables of organization 😇

Actually both Provisional Motorized Cavalry 11e [13e 14e Sqn] and 12e [15e 16e Sqn] Groupements joined and shared the fate of the 19e GRCA Recce unit of XXIIIrd Army Corps
