Re: Database of Kriegsmarine Admirals
The Neck decoration could correspond to the "Kgl. Preuß. Hohenzollern-Kreuz d. Komture mit Schwertern am Ring".

Re: Konteradmiral z.V./SS-Brigadeführer Franz Claassen (1881-1945)
Thanks to some great information from Michael D. Miller I have new updates regarding Konteradmiral z.V./SS-Brigadeführer Franz Claassen viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2186105&hi ... n#p2186105
Firstly, he confirmed that Claassen was indeed awarded the Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) I. und II. Klasse ohne Schwerter.
So, moderators please delete the "(not confirmed)" brackets behind these 2 awards and also delete the last sentence on the post, "I am still waiting to confirm the KVK I ohne Schw. and KVK II ohne Schw...".
Secondly, you can add the following award dates:
(02. 08. 1941) for his Spange (1939) zum Eisernen Kreuz II. Klasse
(05. 10. 1941) for his Spange (1939) zum Eisernen Kreuz I. Klasse
(01. 03. 1938) for his SS-Ehrendegen
(30. 01. 1942) for his SS-Ehrenring
And lastly you can add the following awards:
-Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP in Bronze (add this below the Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP)
-Ehrenwinkel für alte Kämpfer (1937) (add this below the above mentioned award)

Re: Database of Kriegsmarine Admirals
Thanks to some new photographic and documentary evidence we have new updates regarding awards.
1) Admiral Willy von Nordeck viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2179952&hi ... k#p2179952
Add the award date (27. 01. 1941) after his Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) I. Klasse mit Schwertern
Source: award document
2) Vizeadmiral Friedrich Rieve viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2183237&hi ... e#p2183237
We finally have a better quality photo that confirms Rieve was awarded the Flottenkriegsabzeichen and NOT the Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boots-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände.
Delete the Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boots-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände and replace it with -Flottenkriegsabzeichen
You can also delete all the text at the bottom, after the *.
3) Konteradmiral Helmuth Kienast viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2188178&hi ... t#p2188178
Add: -Spange (1939) zum Eisernen Kreuz I. Klasse (add this award at the bottom of his list)
4) Admiralarzt Dr. med. Hugo Caanitz viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2192845&hi ... z#p2192845
Add:
-Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) II. Klasse mit Schwertern
-Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) I. Klasse mit Schwertern
-Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes (Class unknown)
Add all three awards at the bottom of his list. Also, use the red colour for the text in the bracket.
The only source for the Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes is the ribbon of this award on his ribbon bar (see below, last ribbon). Even though graveland and luftk speculate it could be the 1. Klasse of the Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes, I think it's impossible to confirm this just from the ribbon. That's why we will need some other source to confirm the exact class.

5) Konteradmiral Hans-Joachim Gadow viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2186734&hi ... w#p2186734
Change his Schlesischer Adler-Orden II. Stufe to -Schlesischer Adler-Orden II. und I. Stufe
Add: -Flottenkriegsabzeichen (add this award below the Narvikschild)
6) Generaladmiral Hermann Boehm viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2178074&hi ... m#p2178074
There is no update for Boehm. Just delete the part "mit Kommandeurs-Bruststern" after his Großkreuz des Königlich Spanisch-Marrokanischen Mehdauia-Ordens. I don't know why I wrote it down like that. In any case that part is superfluous.
7) Konteradmiral z.V./SS-Oberführer Wilhelm Rümann viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2190247&hi ... n#p2190247
Add the award date (15. 09. 1912) after his Ritterkreuz des Großherzoglich Mecklenburgischen Greifenordens mit der Krone
Add -Ehrenwinkel für alte Kämpfer (add it at the bottom of the list)
*Thanks to Michael D. Miller for providing this information.
8) Admiral z.V. Walter Gladisch viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2179536&hi ... h#p2179536
Add the full date (24. 03. 1930) for his -Großkreuz des Königlich Spanischen Ordens für Verdienste zur See mit Weiß Verliehen
9) A pretty big update for Vizeadmiral Leopold Bürkner viewtopic.php?f=5&t=239341&p=2181077&hi ... r#p2181077
The source for these updates, and the fact that some of them can't be confirmed with certainty, is a new photo of his ribbon bar. The thing that can't be confirmed for sure from the ribbons are the classes of the new awards. If any more things can be updated based on this ribbon bar, I will for sure update the Database.

Thanks goes to user Antonio Prieto over on the GMIC forum, who helped with Bürkner's Spanish awards. See here: https://gmic.co.uk/topic/75656-ribbon-b ... 3%BCrkner/
Also thanks to graveland and luftk for helping me with the rest of the ribbons.
The new awards and updates regarding classes and award dates are the following:
-Königlich Spanischer Orden für Verdienste zur See II. Klasse mit Weiß Verliehen (28. 02. 1935) (new award) (on the ribbon bar it's most likely the last ribbon in the second row)
-Großoffizierskreuz des Königlich Spanisch-Marrokanischen Mehdauia-Ordens (23. 07. 1939) (change of class and new award date) (on the ribbon bar it's the 3rd ribbon in the second row)
*Note: The original name for this class of the Mehdauia Orden is Comendador de número. Into English this would translate as Commander of Number. Since there is no equivalent for this class in German, I decided to write it down as "Großoffizierskreuz". The explanation is simple, the class Comendador de número is lower than the Gran Cruz (Großkreuz) and higher than the Comendador (Kommandeur) which makes it the Großoffizierskreuz in the German system. It wouldn't be right if I translated the Comendador de número into German literally ("Kommandeurkreuz der Nummer"). For the classes of the Mehdauia Orden see here: https://www.coleccionesmilitares.com/me ... hdauia.htm
-Medalla de la Campaña de España (1936−1939) (new award, based on the 4th ribbon in the second row on the ribbon bar)
-Slowakischer Orden des Kriegs-Siegeskreuzes (Class unknown) (on the ribbon bar it's the last ribbon in the first row) (the class is unknown, although graveland suggests it could be the 3. Klasse, if anyone has an idea on the class please comment below)
-Erinnerungsmedaille für die Verteidigung der Slowakei (Not confirmed) (on the ribbon bar it's the 5th ribbon in the second row) (this is just a guess, although a link between Bürkner and Slovakia can be seen with the Orden des Kriegs-Siegeskreuzes he was awarded and also his post as Chief of the Foreign Department, later Foreign-Office-Group in the Foreign-Office, OKW (15 Jun 1938-30 Jun 1944), which would undoubtedly link him with all Axis Allies of the Third Reich in some way, including Slovakia)
-Kommandeurkreuz des Königlich Bulgarischen Militär-Verdienstordens (Class not confirmed) (based on the 1st ribbon in the second row, again the class can't be confirmed just from the ribbon, but seeing majority of other foreign awards Bürkner was awarded are the Kommandeur class, it is a good guess)
The 7th ribbon in the second row is most likely the Kommandeurkreuz des Königlich Ungarischen Verdienstordens, awarded to Bürkner on 10. 08. 1938.
The 6th and 8th (dark ribbon that blends with the colour of the uniform?) ribbons in the second row are still unknown. So, if anyone has a guess feel free to comment.
To make it easier for you Dieter when editing the Database, just copy-paste this updated list for Bürkner (keep the text in the brackets in red colour):
-Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes mit Schwertern am 02.05.1945 als Vizeadmiral und Chef der Amtsgruppe Ausland/Abwehr im OKW
-Eisernes Kreuz (1914) II. Klasse

Here is another photo of later Generaladmiral Witzell, taken in November 1939. On his ribbon bar the "Vor dem Feinde" clasp is clearly visible. In my opinion the second ribbon looks like a BM4X.
