Hi Sturm 78,

sorry for my late answer, but I´m not so often in this object.
To Your question. I think You are right. Here two pics of the ammunition wagon of the 75mm Mle 1897: on the the first a a 7,5cm gun 1897 (source: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... _51514.jpg), on the second many captured ammunition wagons of this type on a "Beutesammelstelle" (salvage depot for enemy material) in France. The third is a drawing of this. ammunition wagon

Best regards

Bert

Compared with the shoe size and diameter, of the shell and having just 2 forging bands, i would say 24 cm. the shape of the fwd row of shells, looks like a old (WW1) model panzer shell without a ballistic cap, the far row look like the regular spreng type.

Thanks, Jopaerya. How are you so sure ? Is this image included in any book ?
Are you sure E.711 batterie? According to Guy Francois, the E.711 have captured 370mm ex-French rail howitzers....perhaps E.721 at Le Verdon ?

Hello - 711 was an schwere Artillerie-Abteilung since 1939 until the end of the war - never a number of a Railway-Battery
