I think verbande, best translated as 'group' probably. A semi-ad-hoc formation. Could be up to a small division in size.

You don't think quite right.
These are six police regiments - four motorized and two cavalry police regiments. On 16 June 1941, the OKH asked the Chief of Police and the Reichsführer of SS to allocate forces to protect the rear of VIII.AK (9th Army). Himmler granted the OKH's request and sent the six regiments from Warsaw.
Documents are available.

Hi Yuri

I'm not sure how what you have given contradicts what I wrote? What in your opinion is 'SS Verb.' an abbreviation for?

NB, I missed a typo, it should be verband not verbande.

You're right. Our opinions are the same. This is more than two brigades, but still less than an infantry division.
Why I wrote, "You are not quite right", I can not understand.
Apparently, when composing the answer, I was thinking about something else.
Please excuse my inattention.

No worries.

To be fair, a verband could be of divisional size too. For example Panzerverband Kempf of 1939 was as big as or bigger than the leichte divisions or 10 panzer Division.
