Photos of Waffen SS Officer's evening dress badge. You will see the Makers mark of Otto and K. Gahr. K stands for Karolina. Otto Gahr was one of the premiere silversmiths preferred by the Nazi elite, which historic documents confirm that he operated out of Muchen. This is referenced and documented in many official accounts.

Check your history it was formed in October 1939. You are incorrect.

No matter, the relic you want to be genuine is a major fake , as I posted as such a couple days before. Take this junk to another forum please

No need to be rude. It's been authenticated sir. And you've been wrong twice now. I could explain why but you seem rather unreasonable. I hope not everyone here is like you.

The person or persons authenticating it- did they ever mentioned why it is stamped "Otto & K. Gahr"?

I only ask since ole Otto was dead and done looooong before 1939. The company was called Karoline Gahr after the name of its sole owner. We know that because it applied and got licensed by RZM under that name (M1/87).

I will say I was semi rude in my reply to this fake piece, and allow me to say *sorry* you have a fake or fantasy TR (SS) relic in your possession. You got ripped off ,this happens quite often.Who is the person to verify this as genuine? Some one over on WAF?bahahhaa.

So again I say I am sorry for my semi rude reply to your post seeking inmformation and verification.

Although the Totenkopf-Division was indeed raised in 1939, it only became a full Panzer-Division in 1943.

But that is the least of the problems with this piece. It is indeed an awful fake. Shape of the skull, overall quality, material, attachment method, markings: Everything about it is wrong.

I can only agree, there is NOTHING that even comes close to being original, it is truly horrible and anyone who says otherwise is blowing smoke and doesn't know crap! Sorry, but this example is an insult to German craftsmanship.

Yes if Ulfhedin had read my post carefully he would have understood the point I was making. I know little about medals but I know about units. That should have been an instant tip off that this piece is seriously flawed and as Mark has correctly pointed out a fantasy piece. Mark I don't think you were rude at all. A fantasy piece was shown with out any provenance and it has serious and obvious flaws that are laughable.

My being semi rude reply was sarcasm directed to this poster. Am sure he will not post anything again here. I see these guys join AHF, p[ost some crap, say it is real as verified on some mystery www or dealer, never gives aname so we can verify, then gets all butt hurt when his crap gets blasted as such here on AHF. I am sure he is now over on GDF or WAF postijg this POS as I write this, lol
