3 Company 101 SS training at Mons questions

hi,
I've seen photos of 3 Company 101 SS training at Mons (April 1944, before deployment to Normandy) and have some questions, perhaps someone knows the answers?

1. in the linked photo, (and other photos of training at Mons) ... are the numbers white in color, and not yet the blue and yellow?

2. where on a map is Mons?

3. Any sources or other info about this time of trainigng. I've seen information and pictures in:
WOLFGANG SCHNEIDER TIGERS IN COMBAT II
and
MICHAEL WITTMANN AND THE WAFFEN SS TIGER COMMANDERS OF THE LEIBSTANDARTE IN WWII, Vol. 1

I'm using Tiger I 311 as a reference for a Tamiya Tiger I, 1/16 RC ... build. And also curious about this history.
