1st Imperial Guards Division Organization 1944

Hi, everyone, I would like to ask if any Change in 1st Imperial Guard divsision durng 1944-45, I see that divsiion had 4 x 1,716 men infantry Regiments (1, 2, 6 and 7th Guards Infantry Regiments) and 1,032 men artillery Regiment with two 3-battery field battalions.

When threat to Homeland was coming during 1944-45, any increase in strenght in that divison : like its infantry Regiment became normal 3-battalion Inf Rgts or its artillery also became normal 3-battalions Art Rgt ? Anyone can help ? Thank

According to it, each infantry regiment had 2,700 men at the end of the war.

Hi, Taki, thank a lot for your link. It is curious that old 1st Imperial Guard Division did not have other rear support Units like Transport Regiment and medical Units while more newer 3rd Guards Division had many rear Units like Transport, medical and even antigas unit.

What do you mean by old 1st Imperial Guard Division? If it means Imperial Guard Division like in Malaya, it had these support units. When 1st Imperial Guard Division was formed in 1943, it did not have support units. I think that it was because its duty was only to guard the palace and it would never go to the field.

Hi, Taki, yes, sorry for my mistake. Old Guard division is 2nd Guards who fought in Malaya, thank. 1st Guards is more younger.
