There are two different references of 3 and 4. I don't know which is correct or increased to 4.

> And I see some Sources that 38th Division had an attached 20th mountain battalion with nine Swedish Bofor 75mm M-1930 mountain guns and 10th Mountain gun Regiment with 24 x Type 41 mountain guns ?

Yes

Taki
Hi, Taki, thank again, but I would like to ask you one more unit : 21st medium gun battalion (Separate unit) in 25th Army in Dec 1941, I don't whether it equipped with 15cm Howitzers or 10cm Type 92 Guns, do you know that ? Thank

Hi, Taki, sorry for bothering you again. One more gun Problem : I see 14th Medium Gun Regiment were equipped with
type 38 120mm howitzer but received 15cm howitzer later. I would like to ask what gun 120mm or 150mm in 14th Medium Gun Regiment during the seige of Hong Kong ? Or mixed with both types ( One Regiment had 24 Artillery pieces) ? Thank

No. 14th Field Heavy Artillery Regiment was formed in 1937 and it was equipped with 24 Type 4 15cm Howitzers. It did not change in Hong Kong Campaign.

Hi, Taki, because Ness Leland book Rikugun says it was equipped with Type 38 15cm Howitzer and replace it with 15cm howitzers in 1942. Maybe he is incorrect in this Formation.

BTW, did all 24 x Type 4 15cm Howitzers took part in seige of Hong Kong ? Or just some Portion, may you tell me About that ? Thank

One battalion was left behind and each battery was reduced to two howitzers. So, only 6 howitzers participated in the battle of Hong Kong.

37mm guns of 5th Independent Antitank battalion were reduced to 12 pieces before the battle of Hong Kong.

3rd Independent Heavy Artillery Battalion did not go to Malaya. After the battle of Hong Kong, it stayed at Hong Kong and went to Rabaul in 1942.

Hello, Taki, thank again for your help.

Normally, 15cm Gun Artillery batalion was exclusively equipped with Type 89 15cm Guns or mixture of both Type 89 and much more heavier Type 96 ?

As far as I checked, all heavy artillery battalions with 15cm cannons were equipped with Type 89 and Type 96 is not found among them.
