Hi all,

Another one gun of the same photo serie than previous images (from Ebay)

I think the gun is a 15cm Tbts K C36 but.... Can somebody identify the batterie ?

In Sudwall I know with this gun MKB 3.-627 of Mauvanne (Rade d'Hyeres) but his guns were inside M272 bunkers...

Hi Sturm, this is an Austro-Hungarian gun, 15 cm / 40 C96 Skoda (a Krupp model produced by Skoda under license).
The battery is in Pula, after the war this fort became Italian and the cannon was called "149/37".
I put drawing and description taken from the book "Naval weapons of WW2 by N. Friedman", and a map of Pula in the 1930s taken from "Le difese costiere Italiane nelle due guerre mondiali, C.A. Clerici 1996".

Thanks, shultz

I suppose that 15 cm / 40 C96 Skoda is the same that 15cm SK L40, therefore

Hi Sturm, these photos of the site 15-18.it are extremely interesting. But the captions, which are as old as the photos, are always rough or wrong.
The fort in your photo and in the one I add is not Austrian but it is the Italian “Forte Venier” of Venice.

I put two photos at the same angle for comparison (see the half-open hood in your photo, and the cover at extreme left in mine).

152-50 V.1913 forte Venier 1 da Gli artigli del Leon.jpg
The gun is a 152/50 V. 1913 R.E. (Regio Esercito, different from those of the navy)

Hi, I also add photos of the 152/50 V. 1914 R.E. gun that was under an armored dome (“Forte Radaelli” in Venice, in service until 1945).

Thank you very much for your answers and the aditional images, shultz.. :)

Was this gun a specifically designed coastal defence gun for the Regio Esercito?
I suppose V means Vickers-Terni, is it not ?
Mod.1913 for open emplacements and Mod.1914 for armoured domes ?
