In 1915 What was the official name for
Often the term, as translated into English shows up as China Area Fleet and often it appears as if the gunboats, particularly on the Yangzi are identified as being the 1st Dispatched Squadron. Later the gunboats were identified as being the (in English) 11th Squadron. By 1915, the ships had been withdrawn or interned. Other ships frequently were just over the horizon, stationed in Korea, the leased area in southern Manchuria, Taiwan, the Penghu Islands or coming or going into Hong Kong (The Crown Colony of Great Britain), Japan's war time ally. Were they still the 1st Dispatched Squadron? What was the official structure of the fleet in or on the edge of Chinese waters?
